Q : How many times will I be solicited by AAUE in a one year period ?


R : On November 1, the AAUE sends a mass mailings for its annual fundraising campaign. On July1 of the following year, the President's annual report is e-mailed to our member donors and is posted on our website. Occasionally, a group e-mail will be sent for specail occasions or specific notifications (such as the posting of various reports). We respect donors' privacy by limiting the number of contatcs. We also do not share their information with anyone. 

Q : Is AAUE a religious organization? 


A : No. The AAUE is a secular, non-partisan and not for profit charitable organization. We support the Association for Upper Egypt for Education and Development (AUEED) education and social development programs. The AAUED is an Egyptian Non Governmental organization.

 

 Q : When will I receive a donation receipt?


A : In early January, we do a mass mailing of donation recceipts for the period of Oct 1 through Dec 31. Receipts for donations made between January 1 and September 30 are sent on an individual basis. 

 

 Q : Are all donations tax deductible?


A : Please contact a tax preparer as new tax laws took effect on January 1, 2018. We are a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization, and in the past, donations to our organization were considered tax deductible.

 

 Q : Expenses represent what percentage of the Association's income?


A :  The average expenditures over the last five years is less than 5% of donations (refer to the President's report on our website). As stated in our mission, our goal is to provide as much money as possible to the AUEED who runs all the educational and social programs. We are able to keep our operating cost to a minimum due to the dedication of our volunteers. No one in the organization is paid, and we allways welcome new volunteers that can help us expand without increasing our costs.

 


Q : Where can I find financial information on the AAUE?


A : Log on to our website at www.aafue.org/ to access the President's Yearly Report and the Annual Financial Report. Q : Can I trust people going door to door in the name of the AAUE and make a donation to them?


A : No. The AAUE uses neither door to door solicitation nor telemarketing to raise funds. Nobody is authorized to use such solicitation methods in our name.
